About Venechuk Farms
Welcome to Venechuk Farms, where our journey is rooted in a legacy of resilience, commitment, and a passion for agriculture. As a family-owned and operated business, our story spans generations, weaving together a rich tapestry of history, hard work, and a true sense of stewardship for the land.
Our story begins with Great Grandpa John Venechuk, a pioneer who migrated from Ukraine to Southern Alberta after World War I. In 1927, he purchased the land that would become Venechuk Farms. Here, he and Great Grandma nurtured the soil and raised their three sons.
A Legacy Takes Root
Grandpa John took up the reins, purchasing the farm from his father. Alongside Grandma, they raised their family, instilling values of hard work and love for the land. The farm became a haven for Dad and his sisters, a place where roots run deep.
Passing the Torch
In the challenging times of the '90s commodity market downturn, we faced the difficult decision to sell the farm. However, the spirit of Venechuk Farms persisted, residing in our hearts until its reawakening in 2010 with the birth of the Innovative Farming Techniques program.
Challenges and Resilience
Today, Venechuk Farms is more than a business; it's a commitment to the community and the future. Fourteen years ago, we founded the Agri-Kids program, a testament to our belief in nurturing the next generation and promoting healthy and locally grown produce, food security and sustainability.

Growing Beyond
Blake Venechuck
Blake Venechuk, a 4th generation Ukrainian-Canadian farmer, embodies a heritage deeply rooted in agriculture that spans centuries. Growing up amidst the fields of Venechuk Farms in Southern Alberta alongside his sister and parents, Blake's childhood was full of farming, hunting, fishing, and adventurous explorations across the vast landscapes of Southern Alberta.
Blake's journey led him to British Columbia, where he obtained his Commercial Helicopter Pilots License, ventured into road/utilities construction, delved into health and fitness education at Trinity Western University, established private gyms, initiated the AGRI-KIDS program, and pursued further education at UBC Sauder School of Business.
Blake's diverse experiences and profound understanding of agriculture, health, and business have converged into a passionate mission. At Venechuk Farms, he, alongside a dedicated community, is driving a program to educate children on both traditional and innovative farming techniques, fostering awareness of food security, sustainability, and delivering fresh, locally grown food to the community. Blake's journey is a testament to the belief that through knowledge and community collaboration, we can cultivate a healthier and more sustainable future.
